Welcoming Our New Assistant Coaches

The Exeter Hawks are pleased to announce our two Assistant coaches for the upcoming season, Dan Schiedel and Brendon Merritt.

Dan is a graduate of St.Mary’s Minor Hockey who went on to play 5 years with his hometown St.Marys’s Lincolns. Dan started his coaching career in Calgary, AB with the “Grass Roots Hockey Program”. Dan relocated back to St. Marys where he coached minor hockey for 11 years in their association. The past 3 years he has been a Head and Assistant Coach in the AAA Huron-Perth Lakers program. Dan resides in St Mary’s with his wife Kelli and sons Jimmy and Nate.

Brendon grew up in Brantford and played AAA for the 99er’s and also played a stint with the AAA Hamilton Huskies. He was drafted to the OHL Guelph Storm. After minor hockey he played Junior C as a 16yr old in Simcoe and graduated to Jr B for the Lambton Shores Predators and St. Marys Lincolns. After junior he played a lengthy career in WOAA senior for the Seaforth Centennaires and Petrolia Squires. Brendon lives in Lucan with his wife Stacie and daughter Callie.

Both Dan and Brendon are excited and optimistic for the opportunity to help as assistant coaches for the Exeter Hawks this coming season.
