ABOUT THE EXETER HAWKS JR. HOCKEY CLUB
The Exeter Hawks started in 1959-60 as the first organized Junior Hockey Team in Exeter, Ontario. The 2009/2010 season is the 50th year of their existence. We had no rink until 1936. The Exeter Arena was built (parking lot of present South Huron Rec, Centre) at a cost of $10,000.00, and opened February 16, 1936. Artificial ice was installed in 1952 -53 at a cost of $60,000.00.
