2022-23 Season Comes To A Close

The 2022-23 Exeter Hawks season ended abruptly after falling to the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs 5-1 in Game 4 Tuesday night at home. The Bulldogs swept the Hawks 4 games to none in a quick 5 day window.

The Bulldogs took the series opener 5-1 before two exciting one goal games in games 2 and 3.

After The Hawks defeated the Dorchester Dolphins 4 games to 2 in the first round they knew they were in tough against the 1st place Bulldogs in the second round of the Yeck Division playoffs. “The team left everything on the table at the end of the day. They played through injuries and key losses to a couple of players”, stated Head Coach Tyler Bryson. “We had a hard time producing some goals and that hurt us in the end.”

It’s a bitter end for overagers Liam O’Shea, Cale Johnstone, Nik Caetano and Captain Sam Dupuis. Assistant General Manager Brent Nairn hopes a few players can make it to the Jr B level, “We have a lot of talent in this room and some players deserve a good look at Jr B.” Aside from that the team is excited for a spring camp and finding some players that can contribute to a solid foundation. First year Assistant coach Sean Consitt is also excited for the future, “We have alot of talent on this team. This is a great organization to play for with a good fan base. We’re looking forward to the process in recruiting, competing and winning this division and a shot at the provincial championship!”
